Hand-made Persian mulberry silk carpets are very durable, so you don’t need to worry if you get a stain on your silk carpet. Most stains can be cleaned successfully. Blot carefully, do not scrub. Excessive scrubbing can damage the carpet and spread the stain further into the carpet. With liquid spills, always remove as much of the spill as possible with a clean rag or towel. To clean a stain, use cold water. If something stronger is needed, we recommend a mild detergent diluted with cold water, or soda water (It’s best to get professional guidance before cleaning).

Hand-made mulberry Persian carpet should be vacuumed regularly to prevent dirt from settling into the pile of the carpet. Avoid vacuuming the tassels or fringes as they may get damaged. Some stains are better handled by professional carpet cleaners. Examples include pet accidents, red wine, and coffee. We recommend having your carpet professionally cleaned every 5 to 8 years depending on use. Never steam-clean, or wet-vacuum your carpet.
